Volunteering: This is an essential part of the program curriculum, and students are required to complete a certain number of hours to graduate.
Travel training: Navigating one’s community is very important for the CollegeWorks student who is preparing for employment and living independently. No matter what the weather is like, we are out learning bus routes and important community locations.
Internship: As a requirement for graduation, each senior in good standing must complete at least a 20-hour internship. Students are paired with an employer in the vocational path they have been studying and with a company that the senior is most interested. When possible, additional internships are provided or extended.
Independent Living: What great satisfaction it is to take care of yourself and live out in the community. We believe these skills go hand-in-hand with successful employment, so it has become an integral part of the CollegeWorks curriculum.
