Year One — Freshmen
Orientation: Like any college, we provide a week of fun activities and events to assist new students with learning the campus and getting to know the staff and other students. It is during this time students will learn the expectation of the program and what it means to be a responsible student on a college campus. Once the student gets their MVCC ID they are free to begin using the library, get discounts at the bookstore and much more!
Course Work: During the First Year Freshmen take four vocational courses each semester as well as computer, independent living and travel training. All students are required to volunteer. All students receive Literacy as well which has become our most popular course!
Year Two — Seniors
The second year is an exciting year of courses and internships as the students prepare to graduate and become employed.
Course Work: Seniors have six vocational courses to complete between two semesters, as well as computer, travel training, independent living, and Literacy. Career classes are held in the community at local businesses.
Literacy: This is our most popular class! From the classics to fairy tales there has been no limit to what books and stories we have read. No abridged version for us, having that book in our hands enhances the joy of reading.
Diversity and Global View (DGV) Events: A graduation requirement for all MVCC students, our students as well are required to attend a certain number of events to graduate. DGV events can include special lectures or events like the International Festival held annually on campus.
